| It's up now on the forum. Go vote! Northen Paladins beat Brills meets Evil yesterday in the bottom bracket finals. Scores will be up once... the films are scored. I'd hate to use a cliche, but the games were closer than the score might indicate. The official fallback time for the finals is 7am cst Sunday of next week. However, rescheduling is likely to happen, so I'll post the official time for the finals once it's settled. The best article/review poll will be going up on the forum on Sunday 2pm cst. Please try to finish your articles and reviews before that, if you think that they should be in the poll. The winner will get a 50$ prize and the second and third place articles/reviews will receive 30$ and 20$ prizes. Northern Paladins beat BIA yesterday with the massive difference of one point. They now face BME in the bottom bracket finals. The official fallback time for the bottom bracket finals is 12n cst Sunday, but the match has been scheduled to 5.30pm cst Friday. So if you wish to join the lobby sitters, then be there at 5.30pm cst. Some more teams are now eliminated after last week's games. We are now at the point when the top bracket finals are played. BME will face Tcox this weekend. In the bottom bracket we have the exciting matches of BIA vs NFDF and Np vs Ele. We are currently sorting out the maps for the finals and they should be out and ready in few days. Scoring has been adjusted for the Round 4 maps Keep Captures and Tamaer Terries, now that I know exactly how many flags/balls they have. :o If you printed the map page, make a new copy. Now that we have completed the DE3 round, go see who you are playing this week. Those of you who were eliminated after DE3: Better luck next year! I would also like to remind you folks about our article/review prizes again. Remember that authors for the best three reviews/articles receive money prizes, so write some more reviews and articles! We've had our bye week now and we continue with DE3 this weekend. Some teams are now eliminated after DE2. Better luck next year! Remember that those of you in the bottom bracket will have to play two matches per week now. The first one is on Friday at 7pm cst (unless you reschedule) and second match is played on the normal fallback times on Saturday and Sunday. Just remember that if you press "T" while you are controlling your thrall, they will die. It's a rather strange bug in the map and it has always been there. So DO NOT PRESS T if you are controlling your thrall. A thrall incident is not good enough of an excuse to replay the game unless the other team is willing to do so as well. There will be no scheduled matches on Jul 8-9. This gives you an extra weekend on which to schedule your DE2 match if necessary. There was a poll in the forum about this which is now closed. We wanted to go ahead and announce it so that you can plan ahead. If you're concerned about finding a play time or fallback abuse, please contact me with a private message in the forums (PM link). We wish we could take 2 weekends off, but it's too much of a delay. We're going to be very sensitive to fallback abuse because of this - it's going to be very difficult to get us to count a forfeit this week, especially if someone contacts me in advance. If you feel you're significantly undermanned, refuse to play and if possible find a TO (I will be online as much as I can Sunday). Bottom line is both teams need to find an agreeable time to play. The Bottom bracket is up. Go see who you are playing. Remember that you are NOT eliminated yet even if you lost your match last round. Also, go vote in the poll about the possible bye week. The poll can be found in the forum. As the last day before the DE, this is your last day to leave your team or adjust your betting pool bets. Yep. It should be up once we sort ouf the Gru vs Ma issue (if you guys played the last game, upload the film). The top four teams get a bye week and Bme and Bia play a match to settle who gets first seed. Either that or they can just forfeit the top seed. Remember that nobody is eliminated untill after DE2. Edit: It's up now. Go see who you are playing. I would also like to remind everyone about our prizes section, particularly about the prizes for the best review/article. Not only can you get 50$ from the best review/article, but theres also a 30$ prize for the second best article/review and also a 20$ dollar prize for the third best review/article. Go ahead and write them people. We all like reading them and it would be the easiest money you will be making this summer. Ok guys, now that QR is over you've got about 48 hours to change your time zone, if you need to. You can also remove players from your team or leave your team for about 96 hours. You can join a team any time before DE2 is played, but once you do you won't be able to leave. Sorry guys, the link to the Barrens that I put up last week was wrong, it is version 1.1 instead of 1.2 The link is fixed now so make sure you download the Barrens again before DE1. This is the correct version. Hey everyone, match reviews are ready to go. Sorry it's taken so long to get this done, it's been crazy around here. Start posting your reviews, and post in the forum if you have any issues. Next I'll be working on getting better statistics up, and a leaderboard page like we had in 04, so we can see who's winning the ratioz prize. Remember that once the QR is over the betting pool is locked (probably next Friday, the 23rd). So make sure you've entered your final choices for the top 8 teams by then. I'm sure you all knew this already, but the last qualification matches are played today. Nobody is eliminated after the QR, so don't worry. The Double elimination rounds start next weekend. Hopefully the match ups are clear by Tuesday. On related news, try not to let situations like the Lrcg vs Smurfs match last week happen. Just play your match and do the flaming afterwards. As long as you actually played all three games. Smurfs and Lrcg are replaying the Calm game this weekend, but if a similar thing happens now a rematch is not an option, because it would delay the tournament. Also, since we do have a money prize for the best ratios (wightyscore, which will be displayed in the statistics page later), trying to cheat in any way is not allowed. For example if you try to "milk" damage from herons, your damage from that game wont count because the wightyscore will take damage into account aswell. To be more specific, it wont count if you clearly are trying to milk more damage for you. For example, if there's a situation where you have three heron guard heroes and you are hitting a healing Heron guard hero, if you just keep hitting the Heron in order to kill it, it's not cheating. But if you stop your herons from attacking the enemy HGH in order for it to gain more health so you could keep on hitting it, that's cheating. This leaves some room for interpretation, but just play normally and everything is ok. The team captains can remove players from their teams again on Monday. You can also switch your team during that week, as long as you do it by Friday. Good luck everyone! Always play the games with "Normal" difficulty. The game difficulty should only be different if specified separately. The game difficulty can alter the amount of flags in the game, as it does in Calm. We decided to disband this bracket and move NFDF and LRCG to other brackets to replace the forfeit teams in those brackets. LRCG will move to Bruiser to replace Golden knights and NFDF will go to Mauriac to replace Gtm. The forfeit results from round one will remain and gaming will continue normally. NFDF and LRCG will just take Gtm's and Gk's place in the match order. I know this isn't fun for anyone, but having a bracket with two forfeit teams isn't fair for the other two teams in the bracket. It would also the twist up the DE seeding in general. You can thank whoever signed up the fake-civil team for that. On related news, the match results and statistics will be abit late for the first round, so be patient. Hopefully we can get them up by wednesday. It will be faster after this round. Some of you also haven't uploaded the match films yet, so do that now. The winning team should always upload the films after the match is over. Please use the same names that you are signed up with, when playing your matches. There is no rule against not using the same names, but you should realize that the person scoring your match might not recognize who you are if you are using a different name. This means that you might not get your statistics updated, because the scorer didn't know who to give them to. Roster size has been increased to 16, so you may add a couple players if you like. Note that you are not able to leave your team until the end of QR, so this is only for adding players who don't have a team yet. Yet another feature today, assign threat ratings to the teams. Everybody's threat assessments will be combined together to produce the official threat ratings. You may change your ratings as often as you like until the end of the tournament. The threat rating is supposed to be the most up-to-date assessment of the danger a team poses. The betting pool is ready to go. Who's gonna win? Who's gonna finish top 8? Head to the bet page and take your best shot. You'll be able to modify your choices until the end of QR. I am putting up a $50 prize for the user with the best accuracy as posted on the betting pool page (tie resolved by random drawing), so choose carefully! The QR pools have been divided and posted, you can visit the QR Pool page to see when the match times are. You will be free to change your time zone selection until 5pm CDT tomorrow, so take the posted match times with a grain of salt until then. Those teams who have not yet picked a time zone, we will select a zone for you if you do not make a choice by the cutoff. It will probably be America. The registration is closed today with the swell amount of 31 teams. We are however open for one more registration if it comes before Friday. If we'd get one more team then there would be no 3 team bracket and the team that gets first seed after QR would also get to play at DE1. All the teams advance to the Double elimination rounds. The QR brackets should be going up shortly. All the brackets, with the exception of one will have four teams in them. I hope all of you selected your timezone for the proper fallback times. The tournament starts next weekend on Saturday and Sunday. You can still add players to your team during the QR if they are not registered in another team. Team switching is not allowed during the QR. You can switch your team once after the QR. If you wish to switch your team now, do it before friday. We also still need more game scorers, so send me a private message in the forum if you wish to score games. The registration closes on Monday, so you wont be able to register your team after that. Please hurry if you are planning on registering your team (I know theres some of you still who are planning on doing that). Update: We are currently at 30 teams, if the three fakes teams are excluded. Two more would be nice for the magical amount 32 teams. I've done it! You are now able to edit your personal info, or the info of your team members. You may also request to leave your team without your captain's approval. Updated: All player changes will happen immediately, but I will monitor changes and revert them if they are malicious. To edit your info, visit your team page, click on your player icon, and look in the left menu for "Edit Info". And remember to keep submitting your teams. We're up to 26 serious contenders, but we still need more. We're up to 24 teams now, and that's after deleting the ones that weren't serious. Players are coming back every day, and I'm sure there's still lots of you out there trying to muster up your team. Keep them coming, if we get more than 32, everything will work out wonderfully. Update: Lots of teams still need to select a time zone. Go to your team page, look on the left sidebar under "Edit Team..." and click "Basic Info". From there you'll be able to choose your team's time zone. If you don't choose a time zone before the deadline, we will guess for you. After a week we have 23 teams registered, but a couple seem frivolous. We are aiming for 32 teams, so at least 9 more are needed. We will of course take as many teams as we can. There is still two weeks of registration time left, so keep the registrations coming! I'd intended to have a few more things working by now, but it's been really hectic around here. I've been moving to a new apartment this weekend, so please be patient with the site until I get settled. Sometime next week you will be able to update your team info, and we will be implementing a new fallback system. Check the forums for a brief description, and watch the site for rules updates and the ability to pick your time zone. Once again, click this link right here to register your team! We have opened registration today, like you probably knew already. The registration will stay open for three weeks or until we reach the ideal amount of teams, so sign up already! We have a whopping $1000 grand prize this year, but make sure you check out our other prizes as well. We have made some exciting changes to the old mwc formula, such as balanced out scoring system, changed fallback time and hopefully more accurate threat assessments. The site will be improved further before the tournament starts, but most of the essential stuff is already working. Let's make this tournament a good one, folks! The site has gone public, and registration is open! Do your worst. Please remember that development is ongoing. One of the big things upcoming is the ability to modify your team page, upload player images, write biographies, etc. Please pay attention to the news page, and take some time to flesh out your team page when I've got it ready. The site is coming along nicely, lots of things are working, and I'll be developing nifty new things every day. We're expecting to open registration on Monday, May 8. We want all the teams we can get, so make sure to come back and sign up! Until we're ready, feel free to check out my MWC01 rewrite. Welcome to the first incarnation of the MWC06 site. Not much is working, but I'm going to be adapting the code from the MWC01 site that I've been steadily rewriting for the past few weeks, so things should be going up rapidly. |
