| Review by Dantski - Overview Ahhh 2 teams who will not be making a showing on the virtual myth podium this year.
So far the Idiots (EICW) have had a slightly disappointing start, failing to take a game off GC and only managing to snag one through the actions of some drug addled minds of TCox, is not a great beginning. But hey! They face off against a 1 'Axe' team and things are looking up!
Companions coincidentally have lost to the same 2 teams! (wow! what're the odds?) Unfortunately a small roster of coop players don't often have much chance in asshole infested waters and the future seems bleak.
After the initial flamefest pre-game, the 2 teams make their way into the arena.Game 1 - Flag Rally on Stalk on the Borderlands Idiots gain a double boost immediately by snagging both the scientifically proven stronger southern start and also by boasting a 4v3 player advantage.
Azhure makes a double fumble by first announcing the wrong round and then mispelling Idiots, maybe you're on the wrong team dude?
However in the capping wars, Inferno loses out to his esteemed colleague Blunt, he trades slower and also manages to forget to get flag defence Thrall and 2 Jmen. Blunt's coop captaining is beginning to pay off!
Companions's team name "//C// ate my hamster" is sure to strike fear into small rodents across the globe.Blunt grasps his victim with an iron gripIdiots take an ordinary 3 prong, while C have 2 large pusless flanks. Blunt sends some some tagger ghols and keeps the pus to himself.
The first blow is struck by Pulverizer the ghol, he freezes SEVEN archers with a pus on Azhures northern flank, after Pulverizer slays 3 archers, another is shot down by his so-called friends. Unfortunately, Pulverizer doesn't not escape the arrows and falls limply to the earth.
Companions southern flank fairs little better, in the space of 10 seconds, Tarous loses 7 of his 10 archers to a combination of pus, arrows and some Jack Daniels courtesy of Norling. After a failed rush, the survivors retreat only to be cut down by some sword wielding pansies.
The northern front isn't going quite as planned for comapanions either (well maybe it is? who knows), the archers are all killed swiftly at exactly the same time as the southern execution was staged and only a dorf and a handful of warriors oppose the Idiot march on the northern flag.
During the fighting, you may spot the occasional pus of Blunts either being blown up, or failing to do anything useful. So what is he doing?
Companions despite losing both of their flanks, are now at Victory Imminent. Blunt's ghols, aided by a couple of warriors, have been tagging flags and only a Jman remains on the last flag, he tries to take it with 2 ghols, but fails miserably. Its up to the double act of Accolon and Calhoun to save the day!
While Blunt positively salivates at the possibility of victory, he neglects to control his NE flag defence and it falls swiftly. This leaves both teams chasing a final flag that they will both surely take.
Q: Can 2 warriors kill a Jman faster than 3 Dorfs, a whole bunch of archers and warriors kill 6 not particularly well spaced warriors?
A: YesCompanions 12-8 IdiotsGame 2 - Assassin on If I Had a Trow... Azhure begins the game with his ever amusing game announcing, he also informs everyone that 'tab', Companions new 4th player, is on the potty. If only all players were this considerate towards reviewers.
Doug's attempt at the old OOS gag is not warmly recieved on the Idiot front.Inferno: I hate youBoth teams start out with 3 prongy strats, C's south prong is Blunts Trow and Myrks (separated) and he leaves a lock at home for later use.
C, like 99% of teams, camp their peasants + wayyyy too many units on the south hill, while Idiots move theirs middle with lots of mauls and soulless nearby.
Immediately companions are on the back foot as Infernos lock blasts half of tabs middle artillery away in one shot. After seeing the Idiots peasants middle, Blunt decides not to inform his team of this fact.
Instead he meditates by the river and wonders where his friends are.Eventually he runs behind Infernos units and kicks all of his artillery while losing half his health.
Unfortunately his reputation as a mighty slayer of Idiots is dashed by letting his Myrks auto after some melee on the other side of the map and being locked to pieces.
South is non-existant, the Idiot south runs to middle after spotting the Trow earlier in the game and eventually joins their mid to push back across.
North is a one sided affair, Tarous proceeds to run locks and souls into incoming happy balls, he manages to blow a midget up but his champion is soon slain as he makes his exit.
Blunt, deciding his previous exploits aren't quite up there in the blunder of the week stakes, fights Idiots far healthier Trow 1v1 he loses, however not disheartened he manages to ambush a dorf and lock with his wight, however he is thought to have loudly cursed his sticky 't' key as Delling escapes before the dagger is sunk. However a rogue pus does freeze another dorf.
Infernos Trow is now red and runs off only to be ambushed by Ithapi the innocuous.Idiots begin to surround the southern hill and pick off the constant lone mauls that are sent to stop their progress.
Blunt, fully aware of his earlier mistakes, secures a nice mortar shot on Inferno's myrks, however his next round plummets into his own teams piggies. d'oh!
After a 2 ball salvo from Zeph's locks, Idiots rush in and disembowell the peasants before the rest of their army.
Companions 12-16 IdiotsGame 3 - Territories on Calm before the Storm Azhure, A.K.A the cool headed Croatian, relieves Blunt of captaining duties for the decider. Croatia > Italy?C do a basic 3 prong and Idiots send 2 flanks worth south with no middle, herons and pus are running around for both teams. However the difference is that Blunt gets all 6 of C's pus.
Amazingly, he does pick up all 6 good pus, while AvA creator Zeph, fails to get his pus. Crippler and Lascerator go back to pick it up.
C's middle veers off south and Idiots run into a minor arrow storm and ghol rush. Some ghols hack away and a dorf is slain, revealing hidden goodies inside.oh noes!The flying satchel of doom owns the other dorf on the flank. And idiots retreat middle, to the cost of some archers.
While this is going on, Blunt's heron auto on Inferno's herons and kill one while he turns to run away. His autoing herons follow Inferno right up to 2 dorfs and then luckily he realises their peril and speedily zooms off.
At this point, C go all out to kill the archers middle, by throwing all their warriors and arrows at them. It basically works as Idiots lose all of the archers while killing a lot of warriors.
However Inferno looms over C's weakly defended archers now and begin hacking away. Blunt is trying to get there so C only lose a few token units before Inferno is forced away.
Despite being down 50-42 in percent, things are looking up for Idiots as Zephs flank comes in from the north, the C middle looks doomed.Sidenote - While this has been taking place, tab, controller of C's northern flank has been sitting on a hill quite peacefully, with no thoughts of violence entering his poop-filled brain. Our hero starts to make his way south. C's mid begins to pull out as its threatened to be overrun, but with their artillery ready to be finished off, Zeph runs away towards middle, as both teams sacrifice some warriors into herons.
Finally tab arrives on the scene, he begins to send wave after wave of arrows Zeph's way as Blunt also pressures with his herons. Things are still looking fine for Idiots though as long as they fall back quickly.
However with great presence of mind! (or sheer luck) Blunt quickly tags 2 flags to secure an upset victory.
