This was actually the most interesting game of the match, but again, more so for what the teams did wrong than anything else.
By the way, this MWC I actually grew to like grilling grounds. It's really not a bad unitset/mesh at all, and despite the obnoxious host-the-QR-maps-billions-of-times syndrome, I had a number of interesting practice games on that map.
Now if there's one thing I've learned about GG CTF, it's that a huge factor in how you perform lies in the Trow (yea, big surprise... or is it?). The map is so open that groups simply HAVE to spread out, and there's simply no way for all groups to be able to adequately fend off a trow (by doing reciprocal damage).
In fact, I think in most cases shadowing trow on this map SUCKS, and I hate watching teams choose "uselessly tail the enemy trow all across the map" over "man up and annihilate, like, 5 vulnerable flanks."
Of COURSE the enemy trow will probably now be able to kick your team's shit. That's not the point. If you can wreak better havoc with your trow (and if you can't maybe you WOULD be better off shadowing) than the other team, you gain the edge. Why not?
That being said, Leadbelly w/ his trows gets off to a fantastic start, walking right over krille's lifeless-seeming units while only getting one trow a little yellow (though he takes a few more uneccessary hits soon afterward). Apparently, Krille actually dozed off before his units came into contact, no doubt snapping back at the sound of "casualties."
One can only imagine the struggle against the heavy eyelids as the purple trow made their nonstop approach...
So now wd has destroyed a flank, and are well up (100%-85%). That's a good thing, right?
Tai Kung apparently freaks out at Lb for losing trow health (Ness's trow are green as they've been following Lb's carnage pretty uselessly the whole time), and steals the trow. He subsequently leads Ness's trow right into some awfully sparse wd units.
Some bad play here, and wd loses both trow and the whole flank.
Now rma has a pretty hefty advantage, including a yellow trow.
Could this be the break they were waiting for?
Can rma complete the comeback victory?
Is this the jumping-off point where rma builds the momentum they need to put together an unforgettable dark horse underdog last stand run ending with their best placement ever so far in this year's legendary Myth World Cup?
No.
rma loses an enormous hill to a poorly coordinated push. The end.
