Review by Duck-Face Killah - Overview

This match featured a full Supreme veteran squad overwhelming the fresh and undermanned IX. While Supreme mostly alternated between joking around and making a half-hearted bid for points, it was amusing to see IX apparently quite nerve-racked in game 1, then almost completely mellow by game 2. When it came time for Grilling Grounds, IX had enough chi to play a defensive game for a few minutes, but that was all they could manage.

In a word: A typical half-hearted stomping.

Game 1 - Flag Rally on Lichen unto Death Final (light)

The nine splits evenly into 3 flanks, while Supreme does a temple D / temple rush.

With no readily available enemies, the IX mid doesn't really know what to do (leaving both IX flanks outnumbered. recap: 33% > 0%, but 33% < 50% and 33% <  50% = bad news). Predictably, Supreme wipes the floor of the enemy temple, whilst easily defending their own.

The IX mid eventually decides to take a back flag, and Supreme doesn't really try to max points, so the game quickly ends 6-4 in flags.

Game 2 - Territories on Caer Cadarn (Trow)

The game starts off with a much more relaxed IX talking about the movie 300. Here's what I think about 300:

Supreme goes all mid. IX sends all mid except for 3 trow north.

Supreme decides that instead of utterly raping mid, they will shadow trow and have a fair firefight. The trowless mid is interesting for a couple of seconds, but then it's over.

Ruin laughs as his fellow fetchers die for dmg, and then blows away, like, 6 fetch without a loss.

Back east, we have Myth 2's version of Bagrada:

But then Duan arrives and chases him off.

Supreme 7-flags soon after.

Game 3 - Capture The Flag on Grilling Grounds (Light)

Pretty much, IX mostly tries to defend, but Supreme makes better use of trows and more players to eliminate IX with 51% remaining. Still, there were two funny highlights of this game.

(1) Tireces vs. Ruin's lock.

Tireces, perhaps hoping to hold his foe at the river, unleashes an unGODLY amount of fire arrows into the ground on his side, forming kind of... well, a patch of some really burnt ground.

Unfortunately, as it turns out...

Fire does not, in fact, block fireballs.

(2) Eibwen vs. Ruin's lock (and archers. and troops.)

I think Eib and Ruin maybe had a feud going on (Ruin game 1: "how did eibwen get on the team? I don't even LIKE him."), and for whatever reason, right about the same time Ruin fights fire with fire, eib starts shooting ruin in the back (who returns fire, sparking a miniature "friendly skirmish"), and later claims he was colorblind. Good one. And good night.
