Although this might not be that important in game play, I would like to share this with those who are training the future of MWCers for tournament action. This was from a playmyth.net forum post from a month ago. So have at it. Posted: Apr 21, 2006 - 10:03 PM -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After almost Ten Years Of Myth and Ive Been here the majority of those years...well with the game....and I have finaly realized just the past week how vital Pre Sets can be in a game situation. For those of you who play "Reg" myth games and dont know what pre sets are, I suggest you pay attention to my brief discussion on how vital they can be. Pre sets can be set up by selecting a group of units, Hold down alt and a number at the same time for "3" seconds and your pre set will be set. Ever play a game where you are so into it you have that "Nervous Twitch" and you click rapidly and then all of a sudden click off the map or suddenly find half your men are not seen on your screen? I use to have this problem because I relied on the use of the "Enter Button" and the "Mouse." Double clicking is another one that still gets me alot but you can never avoid using the double click. By using the "Alt Button" and a number say for example "Alt One" you avoid having to Mouse over all your units or hitting enter. Obviously enter only selects all the units in your monitors visual perception. (wish that enter would automaticly select all the units anyways but it dosn't.) The only part of Pre Sets that might bug you is that you have to set them up before everygame. SO adding Pt to your games gives you a whole new meaning. On the bright side, now you have to focus on individual units and you can "Pre" decide what your goal and or tactic will be with those individual units. Tip: Best bet is to make sure that Alt One probably should be all of your units. Alt two could be your flank units: aka Ghouls, Zerks, Spiders. With Pre Sets now in mind, I can almost guarantee that you will seem 30-40% better automaticly because you are now not suiciding as much and you learn to stop relying on your mouse and the enter button. Reasons of Pre Sets: Simply put, This will bring a more organized gaming tactic to the Reg Community and will Create more challenges for the up and coming new players. Those of you who know how to use Pre Sets, Here would be a great start to posting your pre set ideas and what maps they work best for. Thanx and Good Luck.
