Order Me Another Guinness defeats The Regular Order of Fries 56-18 Review by Anduril Return to Index ROOF, despite having a 7 player team for all games, was hindered by lack of teamwork and inattentive or lagged out players. OMAG, on the other hand, obviously hasnt played much latly, and they seem rather rusty, in game one, but get back into it during games two and three. I leave it to the viewer to decide if COPPER is really a viking or not, I have my doubts though Return to IndexGame One - [Stampede] [Desert] OMAG got a pretty standard unit trade of 15 ghols, max bowmen, max warriors, 4 dorfs, and 13 pigs. ROOF went nearly all melee with max ghols, max warriors, max pigs (30) and only 13 bowmen. As soon as the game started, ROOF sent all their units, except for several ghols, to the south river crossing, a standard flag jugg. OMAG split their units into 3 armies for each crossing, with the extras using their puss ghols for pig hunting. ROOF just ran over the southern defender, who I think was expecting help from the middle and north armies, since they had only a few ghols to contend with. Help only came after the south was dead, in the form of puss ghols commanded by Da Minion. ROOF didnt push hard, or fast with it's jugg after that, prefering to attempt at killing DaMinion's ghols. Finaly the North army realized it didnt have any oponents, and the Middle army realized much the same, they both rushed south to stop the huge ROOF force. DaMinion's ghols held off ROOF for just the right amount of time for help to arrive, so I credit OMAG's slim victory to him. DaMinion (and the help that finaly arrived in the south) killed 20 of the 30 ROOF pigs, while getting 12 of their own in. Congrats Game Two - [Territories] [If I had a Trow] OMAG went with a very unusual maul strategy, that was quite enjoyable to watch, the unit selection otherwise was fairly standard with OMAG getting 15 mauls, 20 myrk's, 3 warlocks, 11 soulless and of course 5 trow. ROOF went with the standard max myrk's, 4 warlocks, 18 soulless, and 5 trow. ROOF again tries a jugg, this time in the middle, with all their trow, myrk's, locks, and most of their soulless. For some reason, however, they never made it past the bridge, perhaps OMAG's 5 trow and 5 mauls defending it looked particurily nasty. The remaining ROOF soulless, spread out along the back wall to keep them in hiding until the end of the game i presume. OMAG flanked with it's myrk's both in the south and north, and trapped ROOF's stationary jugg in their middle flag. OMAG then whiddled ROOF down very well, the rustyness I mentioned earlier seemed gone. ROOF may have broken out at several points, but their warlocks were grouped together at the back of the army for most of the match. Infact I blame that more then OMAG cunning (although that helped) for ROOF losing. By the time Moon (ROOF) seemed to realize he had the team's only warlocks, a fireball was coming at them from one side, and an OMAG trow from the other. Needless to say they all died in one deadly blast. After the middle was destroyed it was just round up hunting down the rogue soulless, and after only a few moments of confusion OMAG got the 6 flags they were hoping for Game Three - [Flag Rally] [Cracks] This game was the most strategicly active, yet somehow also the most boring, but here you have it. OMAG went for a more defensive strategy this time arround with 16 bowmen, 8 ghols, max knights, 4 dorfs, 12 warriors, and 20 thrall. ROOF went with 5 dorfs, 3 ghols, 18 bowmen, max knights, 16 warriors, and 10 thrall. OMAG surprized me a bit in the begining, when they went offensive on only one front, the East, their West side and home flags they guarded for the rest of the match. ROOF went for a 3 pronged attack, with units attacking in East, West and middle. True to Moon's style though he forgot about his units for a good while and seemed to watch the action. His commanding the middle ROOF army didnt help matters. By the time he tried to cut off OMAG's eastern attack, they were gone too far south again to kill easily. However OMAG never retreats like that without reason; as they retreated from attacking the eastern ROOF flag, the ROOF army followed them, hoping to cut them off with Moon. As the ROOF army moved away, a sneaky OMAG ghol, that I didnt notice either, moved in and stole the flag. At the same time the West OMAG army tries to move north also, and eventually takes the rest of the ROOF flags, however its slightly more amusing then it sounds, because ROOF's western army passes OMAG's but both keep going. ROOF however doesnt stop at the nearest flag, and by the time they get to the OMAG base they are about to lose their last flag. The commander of that, the last, ROOF army, tells his team not to worry, that he will "come back" for an almost undefended flag. He then promptly rushes the OMAG base, defended by a dwarf on the wall; all his units die horribly, I was disgusted by the butchery of his own men. |
