Team Q.P. defeats Cloudspine Militia 58-18 Review by Achilles /////HD Return to Index Well, all credit to the two Cloudspine Militia team members who turned up for this match.Whilst it looked like QP were in no hurry to get this match over with, CM at least made the best of efforts in the circumstances Return to IndexGame One - [Stampede] [Desert] Pretty much identical unit trades for the teams (or is that team and duo, as only Stevens CM and Hawkeye MDK turned up). Archers, dwarfs, 18 pigs for QP, 15 porkers for CM.In planning, Stevens (captaining this game), asks ' u know plan all? Which may reveal a Freudian wish that he had a bigger team than a single team mate. QP do a strong 3 way split, and fallax their cap takes an eternity to melt their 5 wights and load up ghols. CM send a large ghol pack and some warriors north, and then Hawkeye meets Dir en Grey QP at the bridge. Dir wins that handily. Stevens is in big doo-doo to the south as Lariat pushes across from the east, and Dir moves down to help inside CM's half. QP wipes out CM's north token defence, and exits all 18 pigs, led by their jman swineherd, totally uncontested. QP manage to finally use pus on the pigs at about the 8 minute mark, although one QP ghol runs right past, and fails to spot a lone CM pig left at the center start. QP moves in to sort out the last of the CM pigs and units, and Stevens retreats his last pig beghind a small screen or archers. QP finally nail that singleton pig sitting center, and stick a ghol blade up the jacksy of the last pig south. He didn't like it. Not worth a view really, unless you want to see QP make a meal of a ham sandwich Game Two - [Territories] [Trow] QP get 4 locks and a lot of soulless. CM, possibly putting wishful thinking before reality, trade for 6 locks and a few soulless. 5 trow, max myrks etc etc. QP do a 3 way, with some soulless drifting down to the far south east wall. CM have Hawkeye, and Stevens center with far too many units for one player. His myrks get a faceful of fireball early, and with QP full handed in the trow/lock/myrk/soulless department, the fighting is swift, bloody and final. hawkeye meets the same fate south, holding the QP flag. He gets lured away by a few QP soulless offering to poke his trow, and the Japanese team slip in to flag CM a few seconds after Hawkeye remamrks 'we're in trouble' Game Three - [Flag Rally] [Cracks] Pretty much identical trades again although CM make a strong defence with thrall at the expense of buying warriors. QP stream out in a three way, Stevens of CM makes it to an outer flag. And, it must be said, QP were pretty slow about tagging their own home flags. Anyhow, QP have a bunch of stygs center, and give Stevens a hard time who is attempting a strategic withdrawal (run like hell in the opposite direction), and defend his own flag. He doesn't manage either maneouvre, and it is left to hawkeye to make a last stand. He doesn't too badly really, seeing as QP are streaming inot the CM fort from 3 directions, with about 80% of units alive to CM's 45%. As the last flag goes down to QP, Hawkeye is seen to remark, quite rightly, that 'there were too many of them'. And too few Cloudspine Militia, sadly. But they tried their best. |
