TenCrik defeats The Crazy Ones 53-32 Review by Myrkridon Return to Index The first 2 games feature TCO making stupid mistakes and s8 taking advantage of them. Then in the third game, s8 and TCO seem to almost switch roles, as s8 makes too many stupid mistakes to count. If you like seeing blunders, watch this film. Otherwise go elsewhere Return to IndexGame One - stampede Desert TCO juggers the south with everything except a roaming gholpack. They only get about 10 pigs. s8 does a typical 3-prong with a ton of pigs. This game ends soon after it starts, when TCO's gholpack rushes s8's pigs and doesn't kill a single one. s8 gets 29 pigs in, and TCO gets all 10 pigs in too late Game Two - terries Trow One of s8's players (Alucard, an ex-Aesir member pretending to be the famous Loki of TFL fame) begins the game by saying, "God Mode On". If the rest of this match is any indicator, God Mode doesn't help him much. This game really isn't even worth watching. TCO splits their army between middle and south, and s8 does a 3-prong. TCO's gets warlocked/rushed to death and s8 gets the 6-flag win Game Three - fr Cracks Here comes the game that starred in the "Match of the Week" column. Kind of sad really, that a game like this would outshine the others. It was a really poorly-played game by both sides, although s8 gets the suckage award because they lost it. I'd have to guess it only got picked because Sir Parson likes to see the top seed lose to a team of unknowns. Speaking of that, this game already got reviewed. Well, I guess I'll waste my time and review it again :( TCO gets a pretty standard trade with a big gholpack. s8's trade is unusual; they get the maximum possible number of archers. Why? Who knows. This costs them on ghols and melee. s8 does a typical 3-prong strat, and TCO opts to only send out their melee and ghols, while camping everything else at their fort. The TCO melee pack reaches the mid, and one group of them suicides some units pointlessly before retreating...but the other one sneaks by and heads for s8's weakly-guarded fort flags. Ronin sends his dwarf back to the base to help, and it gets killed by a few ghols. This is pretty much the turning point in the game. TCO not only gets the fort flags, but they get Ronin's flag (the outside east one) too. Although they probably could have held it easily, TCO abandons one of their fort flags and just defends their last one with everything. Not as big a win as they could have made it, but it'll do for TCO. They're content with a 7-7 win, apparently. ...but they win even bigger, thanks to this next play by "Loki", which will get the blunder of the QR award easily. Ronin sends all his melee off the s8 outer west flag to try to take the last TCO flag...not really a bad move at all by poor Ronin, seeing as how the only enemy unit near the flag is one TCO stygian knight, and the flag is still guarded by 8 archers and a dwarf. Way more than enough defense for a half-decent player to hold off one styg with. Luckily for that TCO styg, the flag isn't guarded by a half-decent player; it's guarded by Alucard, the guy who apparently got kicked out of Aesir for being an ass. How big an ass you have to be to get kicked out of Aesir, the clan that houses such famous Myth idiots as J-Ditty and Kilgrath, I can't even imagine. This guy's got so little m2sbr that he has to steal it by pretending to be someone else. See why, right here...this is the biggest display of lack of skill I've ever seen in a Myth game. Alucard/Loki's dwarf sits and stares blankly while the styg chops it up, then his archers just shoot the styg with arrows as they get hacked to bits. This continues until the 8 archers are reduced to three, at which point Ronin says "k double click on it Loki". 'Loki' finally double-clicks the styg, but it's too late as the styg is already a super-veteran. TCO wins 8-7. |
