Glue The Moose defeats The Fallen Bishops 38-29 Review by Dave Matthews Return to Index I have an hour before we play TN... EW sez we're gonna be raped. mb, mb not (i left this part in 'cause i came back and we WON! hahaha.. it was close though). Anyway... Return to IndexThis was gtm's closest win yet and overall a pretty fair showing from both teams. Besides the horrible messup in stamp... which is quite possibly the worst play you'll see in mwc (sorry cleat, but it was) the games were pretty good. Both teams obviously possess some top-notch myth skeelz and had flashes of brilliant play.. I think a lot of them suffer from narcolepsy though, you should get that checked out boys. The pig dance at the end of game 1 will either make you shake your head in shame or pass out laughing... either way I'd d/l the film for that Game One - [Stampede] [Desert] Both teams go 3 prong and max pus from the beginning. No massive "MOOO!" from gtm foreshadows a pretty uninspired match from them. tfb also goes for a safe 9 pigs and gtm trades for 15. Once the game starts, Ranger heads south with 15 warrs in a tight box formation. He encounters D who has a group of archers, 2 duffs and 8 or so warriors. Oddly enough D doesn't attack and is content to stand still for the next few minutes. Ranger: good pus Yep, Rival sprints onto the scene with 6 pus ghols... but still no attack. Hmm... boring. North is a stalemate for almost the entire game. Zzzz... Now to the only action for the first half, Rocket Dive vs. Cypher. An extended archer dance, punctuated by sparkle dog charges and feints. All of Rocket's pus missed or was blocked and Cypher got off a great shot in the middle of a clump of archers, freezing but not killing 5 archers and a duff. Even with the pus, Rocket's skill keeps the battle balanced. Rival: lets go Rival: ranger what u doin? Sheesh... this game would have been a whole new ballgame had either of the flanks done anything. Well it's about time since Rocket just got his ass handed to him by another pus packet: CHAAAAAAAAAAARGE! Ranger and Rival slam into D and Darby's forces with all the subtelty a mass pus/warr attack can manage. Both duffs fall and it looks like Ranger can't lose... but pus after pus forces him to keep spreading and like a domino effect his warrs start to die. It took 5 pus but those 15 warrs and Rival's ghols are dead and a few warrs/archers survived to tell the tale. Cleatus.. why oh why did they give you the pigs... obviously an animal lover, the thought of putting the pigs within a mile radius of an enemy unit is too much to bear and he spends a few minutes running back and forth down south undecided on whether to cross and run to the open flags. Rival orders him north to the 2 stalemated north groups and Rocket wins the middle. Since this one match review is too long I'll sum it up in two sentences: tfb charges north and dies, Jimmy James runs 1 ghol around gtm's pigs and cleatus flees in terror from him. Time runs out. 0-0 GG Game Two - [Terries] [Trow] Whew, ok this will be shorter. Both teams grab a standard 5 trow, max myrks melee group. tfb 18 souls, gtm 6 souls +1 more lock. This is a lopsided game. tfb doesn't flank and gtm shoves them back on the mid flag within a few minutes. D uses all 5 trow to chase the 2 trow/9myrk top flank away and all the way across the map (over to gtm's side) before killing the myrks. Lots of lock blasts occur near tfb's flag and I think at one time they were winning. 12 soulless disintegrate in a fireball from Doraemon's lock and shortly after the rest of the tfb army. The 5 tfb trow link up with 6 souls who went north and 1 myr and camp at their north flag. Gtm unites and flags tfb when they accidently leave the flag to kick some open souls. 17-0 gtm Overall: 17-0 gt Game Three - [Flag Rally] [Cracks in the Cloudspine] With gtm up by 17, and a flag rally win worth 29 maximum, tfb will have to totally shut gtm out of tagging ANY of their 4 flags to keep them to the 12 minimum and go for the tie. tfb's strat calls for defending only 1 flag... obviously nobody did the math or they had only 1 strat. :( Okay, both teams get no pus and gtm has more archers than tfb, who gets an extra duff and some thrall. Both teams rush mid but tfb arrives first using the high ground to punish gtm with arrows/grenades. Doraemon: why are we fighting a losing battle in mid? Nobody knows but they keep fighting. A small flank takes gtm's home flags and one outer leaving them with one flag left. Tox uses his ghol pack to tag 3 of tfb's. The small flank and big middle crush the remaining flag and tfb wins 29-21. Overall: 38-29 gtm wins |
