Glue The Moose defeats Legion of the Avatara 59-44 Review by P. McCartny Return to Index Throughout each game, the lead shifted back in forth from 10%-20%. These were 2 teams who at no time wanted to stop fighting. By this I mean they were aggressive, but not stupid. LoA has definitely made a name for themselves after this match and are a definite force to be reckoned with. Return to IndexAnyway .. match. one last thing .. "Dwarf LoA" will be referred to as Dwarf, and regular myth unit Dwarves, will be referred to as duffs. Game 1- Terries, Desert Both teams 3 dong, LoA splits their flanks between 2 people with 7 arcs on each flank. GTM however, gives Dor a whole flank south, and Rival a whole flank north. However, cleatus has 4 puss to help rival out, and Ranger 4 puss to help Dor. GTM's mid has 10 arcs to LoA's 9. Rival starts pressing immediately, killing an arc an evening out the arcs 6v6. Cleatus attempts to move in with puss, but they fail. On the other side, lumber sends 1 puss at rival nearly killing both. Only one dies because Rival charged his unfrozen arcs at LoA's charging arcs and forced them back. Oh and I forget to say, RR got 2 j-man for this game, he sends one south to help out rival. Once cleat's puss is gone, Rival is forced to hold the remainder of the game. Dor then tries pushing north, but ranger fails with all 4 of his puss, Dor sits back, at time to time pushing in to hit LoA's north melee, eventually killing the duff, and losing only one of his arcs. Both teams are planning a last 2 minute rush, despite LoA having the clear advantage over both north and south with more people/units on those flanks, they decide to play it cool. At around 3 minutes, Dwarf and Willis charge in with 4 puss, the first 2 puss take out 3 arcs and a dwarf. the 2nd to take out 1 arc freezing another. But Dwarf and Willis continue to push killing the 2 frozen arcs, and eventually gtm's middle is down 8-4 in arcs. Unfortunately, time is at 00:02. When you contest a flag it contest 5 seconds before you walk off. Cleatus at this point has a ghol middle and for God knows what reason, contest's LoA's middle flag which is guarded by 1 full health war. at 00:00, he gets off. Sudden death goes 5 seconds. In these 5 seconds, LoA has already pushed north and they have one lone one hit away from dead warrior contest gtm's north flag at the last possible second. Dor can take this war out with his 3 wars and thrall, plus is 2 arcs standing on ridge. Incase you wondering this war is contesting in that pond thing. The war stands behind the flag avoiding dor's arc fire, while this happens LoA's north arcs take out Dor's last arcs and move in with melee taking the flag. At this point gtm's mid has been lost. The only flag left is south which rival is desperately guarding but eventually is over powered and loses his flag. 6-0 LoA. 15-0 Game Two - Terries, Desert A couple replacements this game, Ripper and Monk come in for rival and cleat. This time RR only gets one j-man. In attempts to mock gtm, LoA yells MOOOOOO right as gtm does, that was the only funny pt chat, and that wasn't very funny at all. This time RR puts more wars on flanks and less arcs, 4 puss goes to each flank of 12 wars and 5 arcs, immediately RR and ranger puss the north duffs killing them both and allowing them to rush in to kill the rest. Dwarf then goes north with his 5 arcs, 4 wars and dwarf. Gtm's middle immediately pushes and drives willis back to LoA's fort thing. Ranger then brings up two puss that kills Dwarf's 2 arcs and duff. Toast is attempting to push south vs high arcs, but is failing. He backs off, but LoA can not push because toast managed to kill the dwarf during the failed rush. RD then heads north to sandwich Dwarf, and does so. One flag stands between gtm's victory. Ripper then sneaks a ghol around south and tags the unguarded 6th flag for the win. 17-15 gtm. Game Three - LMOTH, Barbarian Valley Both teams get tons of artillery but very few mauls. Both teams split tr0 2 ways. Fortunately for gtm, they have the nice high hills. Acheron then sends his only tr0 up this high hill. Soon to realize Greenz has zerks behind him, and monk's zerks in front of him. The nice thing about this hill is there is only 2 ways to get off it, the 2 side exits which unfortunately, ach was no where near. Acheron's tr0 gets trapped while trying to move and dies in instantly seconds, killing or injuring nothing. Monk and rd then proceed to own lumber's north fetch, but can't push because of the high mid hill. RR and mormon start pressing middle and mormon's mortar takes the hill. Mormon then takes out middle's only artillery which allows RR to move his souls up. Meanwhile north is stalemated for the majority of the game because LoA's mid hill vertically exceeds gtm's hill. Mormon then lands another a mortar ball on top of Sioflake's mort head. %'s are close, but LoA is losing territory quickly. To describe it, GTM has LoA surrounded on all but one side. LoA loses their last fetch to Greenz lone zerk and mormon's mort delivers yet another fatal blow, this time at 4 zerks. Both teams are dead even at 60%, with one minute to go. Dwarf's 2 tr0 and several zerks rush rival making an opening for LoA to get to the flag. Mormon fires again killing several souls and zerks, only then to be kicked by Dwarf's tr0 :(. At 20 seconds left LoA has made mincemeat of all of gtm's artillery except 2 fetch. Strikes souls move up and kill them both, gtm loses their only advantage. Dwarf;s tr0 and 6 zerks then proceed to finish off Rival's tr0 and Greenz zerks. At one point in this game GTM looked to have it won but some nice soulling from strike combined with dwarf]s tr0 ownage won the game. 23-17 Game Four - LMOTH, Barbarian Valley At the start of game 4, RD says he's done a set of military presses because he is pissed. I remind him this is myth, a computer game. The only exercise that helps you on myth is finger cracking, and writing long stupid reviews. But RD is not the only one that's pissed, in Ranger's angriness he drank a glass of water, and Rival took a piss. They are totally pumped :O Same strat and lineup for both teams. Once again, acheron sends his tr0 at gtm's middle, only this time he does something productive, he kills 2 fetch, 2 mortars, and one soul, but he is not paying attention to his 8 zerks at middle which get paid a visit by dor's 2 fetch. He then loses all but 3 of his zerks, as his tr0 also dies. Rival then puts pressure on north with his tr0, but can't capitalize. Meanwhile middle, Dor notices a fetch and a mortars clumped neatly together, facing his mauls. Dor then charges with one maul, Sio-flake then shoots off his mortars as the fetch near him also shoots of some lightning. Surprisingly, the lightning did not ignite the mortar ball, don't worry there is still careless suiciding! Before sio-flake's mortars shoots, one soul out of the 6 he has, god knows what his intentions were, walks in front of the mortars shot, blowing up the fetch, the mortars, and the soul. :( Dor then moves in with all his mauls distracting the fetch and RR kills it, that was the last of LoA's artillery. GTM has won south now, with mid's melee retreating, LoA's mid and LoA's north combine, but it's too late, GTM destroys the remainder of the melee with mortars and fetch, GTM wins 54%-0. 30-23 GTM. Game Five - Flag Rally, Smells like Death in Here Last game, LoA must win by one flag to take the series. LoA does 3 dong, gtm does 2 dong and a pitiful excuse for a 3rd dong. LoA pusses, gtm doesn't. GTM tags first, but have 0 openings to get LoA's home flags. GTM pushes LoA's east flag 5 arcs, 3 herons, 1 lock, and one duff vs. 3 herons, 3 wars, 1 duff and lock. Monk's lock makes quick work of the East archers, meanwhile LoA fails on an attack vs gtm's guarded west flag. %'s are even at 85%. Ranger puts his west arcs and dwarf on offense heading for LoA's home flags, he has to go through the narrow passage way and at one point gets clumped, then confused by Strike's lock. Sio-flake sat pusses him and willis' heron moves in killing the surviving 2 wars. Tox, then confused willis' lone dwarf and war and dor rushes in to kill them. LoA's east is holding out, but won't be able to much longer. Meanwhile dwarf is literally sitting at middle deciding where to go. He sends some shit at gtm's home flag getting one, LoA goes up 5-4. At this point LoA is up 10% with 6:40 seconds to go. That lead changes instantly when Ripper kills LoA's east lock with Arcs, then, Tox regains mana and confuses Willis' melee which was guarding his 3 arcs which are now defenseless vs tox's heron. With some god awful bug, Dor throws a bottle into a wall, literally it just duds and stays there instead of bouncing back down. Highlight of the match. Dor eventually does get his dwarf in range of willis' confused melee and injures it but most of it gets away. Dwarf then goes to help out east but fails doing so, so LoA gives up the east flag and tries going south towards gtm's home flag. 5-5 flags now, LoA's north flags are in trouble with both east and west pressing, not to mention LoA has weak defense with no arti. Willis and strike then proceed to surround dor and his melee in the narrow passages west, and dor dies losing his lock and melee. Now gtm only leads by 5%, but are close to getting LoA's final flags. Tox sends a heron north and captures LoA's north west flag, at this point Strike tags gtm's no longer guarded west flag, and 2 LoA herons get gtm's south west flag for victory immanent. Unfortunately, LoA do not have any artillery to try and over take the final flag. LoA is leading 8-6 in flags, unfortunately %'s drop again this gtm leading by 15% with 4 minutes to go. GTM gets LoA's unguarded north flag, then a lock and heron move in to get LoA's final north east flag vs 2 wars. The lock and heron make quick work of the wars, and win the game. GTM wins 8-7 59-44 in favor of GTM. |
