Biography:
Bungie core beta tester (pre-Microsoft)
-beta tested Myth 2 from beta 4 through slamfest
-beta tested Chimera and Total Codex
-beta tested Oni from Alpha 4
How I got the nick Cypher:
Many people think that my nickname came from a book or from the movie
"The Matrix", yet that is plain wrong - though I did get my nick from
a movie.
I purchased 2 piranha as babies about 15 years ago and about the same
time saw an interesting movie called "Angel Heart". Robert DeNiro
played "Louis Cypher". Being the cool guy that I am - I named my
piranha Louis and Cypher. I went away for a while and almost
immediately after I returned Cypher ate Louis for a variety of
reasons.
A few years later Cypher died - he was 10 inches long and was raised
from a quarter sized baby (I'm proud of Cypher). In the months before
his death, I would feed Cypher pond goldfish which were about 6
inches long. I was amused my his eating habits... Actually before
his death Cypher ingested a variety of thing including many shots of
Jose Cuervo, shrooms, LSD, hash and a few other choice narcotics and
alcoholic beverages. See, my girlfriend at the time didnt like
Cypher too much and tried to kill him in many ingenious ways
including feeding him the items mentioned. She was on the goldfish'
side.
My nickname "Cypher" is an homage to my dead piranha. I added the
trademark symbol that you see on bungie.net because I beta tested
Myth 2 and feel that I should "notarize" the name "Cypher" because I
definitely had it first for Myth 2 - there were no other Cypher's in
the beta.
Threat Assessment:-beta tested Myth 2 from beta 4 through slamfest
