 |   During the Qualifying Round we tried to choose games that captured all the different varieties of traditional Myth 2 skill, hence the classic desert and trow meshes. Of course we also wanted to choose games that would utilize all team members and allow for good strategy. We hope you enjoy these first few weeks of the Myth World Cup, and look forward to some competitive games. Stampede on The Desert Between Your Ears Stampede on either desert or trow has become an MWC Qualifying Round tradition. Exemplifying perfectly the choice imposed by the point system, Desert Stampede forces a team to answer the question, "Should we go for just the win, with few pigs and more troops, or go for points, and try to win shorthanded?" Traditionally most teams will opt for the maximum point strategy, but knowing this, you could very well go for the minimum win and be sure to outnumber the enemy. The choice is not a trivial one, choose wisely. Territories on If I Had a Trow... A classic rank h00r game, Terries Trow should prove to be a challenge for a lot of unranked players, but well balanced teams should have nothing to fear. Strategy on this one is hotly debated, but most don't split into more than 2 squads, since there's safety in numbers when trow are around. Soulless are another area of contention, some teams will swear by them, while others are convinced that they are worthless when compared to locks and mortars, especially for large team games. The only real sound advice I can offer is to keep your trow alive, if you can tag a couple of flags at the end, even a loss won't hurt too bad. Flag Rally on Cracks in the Cloudspine The final game of the series, your strategy on this should probably depend on whether or not you are winning the match. If you are, it's possible to defend all 4 of your flags with lots of archers and dwarfs on high, stalling for the 4-4. If you're down or you want to maximize your point differential, you can push for more flags with a few less dwarves, some extra pus and some extra melee. Good luck to everyone, and have fun!
