 | That was a psychotic, off-subject rant if I've ever seen one. After Broken Cow informed me that it made no sense, I went back and re-read it realized that he was absolutely correct. Here's what I meant and some things I'd like to clarify. Basically that was written in response to people saying that QR will be full of pathetic games. Here's what I have to say: Sure we've got a bunch of mediocre and bad teams, but skill doesn't neccessarily reflect how interesting their game will be. I'm not gonna deny that there will be lame games, there will be, but it probably won't be that bad... But just in case they are, try and forget everything I've written, k? =) Also, to clarify from the otehr article. 1.) "That trend is that tournement loving, no longer (or never) b.net regulars are writing rants about how no one except for people like gtm, Np, Cirque, Cacra, etc. are the only people that have a chance in MWC and no one else should bother playing." and "I think my prime point of stereotyping and underrating is Myrkridon's article 'Myth the Real Man's Way'." Those two quotes were NOT meant to be related. My apoligies if you took any offense from that Myrk, it wasn't intended. Sry man. 2.) "What part of those requirements does the FF vs. tfb match not meet? Both are active Myth orders with good Myth players that play competitivly and intellegently and are known for making Myth games unique and amazing." Not meant to be bragging about skill, I just wanted to say that skill wasn't really what Spotlight matches were measured by. 3.) "I think I understand why a lot of people underrate teams... Because they don't have a high b.net rank. Look for yourself on the betting pool, betting by rank..." It sounds like I'm misunderstanding the Seed Rank betting part of the betting pool. It was meant as a statement directed toward (and inspired by) a group on b.net a few days ago that claimed that if they bet on the teams that had high b.net rankings, they'd surely win the prize. While it is possible, I doubt it'll happen. Overall I'd like to apoligize for writting an article that was intended for a specific group of people on a site that anyone in the Myth community might access. -Gafgarion |
